Two evenings, two mornings

Huuto Gallery, Helsinki, 2025

The passing of time is seen in the strip of light sweeping across the still life. The light reveals plastic fruit, empty and full bowls, wrinkles on the tablecloth – one detail at a time. At the same time, the stillness of the arrangement becomes evident. Waiting.

And even though time passes inevitably, the plastic fruit never shrivels.

There was a time when I just waited for the evening to come. Daylight was so harsh and sharp that it hurt, while the dusk felt soft and safe. But a new morning always dawned. Would it be different this time?
